Lou Reed's Berlin (2008) Former lead singer and songwriter for the innovative group The Velvet Underground, Reed revisits his solo venture "Berlin," a tragic rock opera about a doomed couple. Directed by Oscar nominee Julian Schnabel (The Diving Bell and the Butterfly), "Berlin" was filmed in December 2006 at St. Ann's Warehouse in Brooklyn, New York and features the singer performing his controversial narrative album live with the divided city of Berlin as the concert's backdrop.
